September 2006 — Congregation
Shearith Israel (CSI) at www.shearith.org
has selected Joe Funk Construction Engineers to oversee a major
building program at their location in Dallas where the synagogue
has operated for the last 50 years. Known as one of the leading
conservative synagogues in the U.S., CSI is currently home to

scheduled for August 2007 before the high holidays begin.

Approximately 16,000 sf of new space will be
added to the existing facility to accommodate a new 450 seat sanctuary,
a new 100 seat chapel for morning and evening services, an exterior
courtyard, and a new, well-defined front entrance and lobby area
leading from the secular to the sacred. Additional parking and
paving is planned. Renovation of 66,000 sf of existing space will
include the main sanctuary, social hall, auditorium, bathrooms,
classrooms, administrative offices, rabbinic and cantorial offices,
choir areas, and common areas. Scope of work also includes HVAC,
