June 12, 2003—The services
of Joe Funk Construction Engineers, Inc. have been retained by
the City of Plano to complete renovations at the Pecan
Hollow Golf Course on work first started in 2002
by another contractor. New construction work at Pecan Hollow includes
the 7,500 square foot, split level pro shop and clubhouse, a main
meeting area, dining area, kitchen, and locker rooms. This is
in addition to the new construction of a parking lot, paving,
fire lane, cart paths, a Plaza outside the clubhouse that overlooks
the putting green and first tee box, and general landscaping.
Representing the City of Plano on this $2.2 million
project is Bill Morris and James Moss who have worked with Joe
Funk Construction Engineers previously on the award-winning Plano
Courtyard Theater project. Other professional team members
on this project include Chuck McKinney, civil engineer with Jones
& Boyd, and the internationally re-known design
firm of Leo
S. Daly. Glenn Sefton and David Rafferty are leading
the project team on behalf of Joe Funk Construction Engineers,
Inc.
According to Rusty Norris, Executive Vice President,
“Joe Funk Construction Engineers is very pleased to have
the continued confidence of the City of Plano by being asked to
step in to complete construction on the Pecan Hollow Golf Course
facility and the work started by someone else. It is never an
easy undertaking to follow someone especially when some of the
work needs to be redone.”
The Golf Course is located in East Plano on 14th
Street east of Central Expressway. New construction work has started
and Plano residents can plan to enjoy the golf course and all
of its new amenities in May 2004 when the project is completed.
