Firm History
Founded in 1956 by Joe Funk
and his wife, Byrna, Joe Funk Construction Engineers was incorporated
in 1965. This Dallas-based company continues to operate successfully
as a General Contractor building on its strong reputation for
excellence, quality work and customer satisfaction.
Numerous
well-known projects throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex
showcase the firms talents, diversity in expertise and stability.
Mr. Funk
got his start in construction soon after graduating from Southern
Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
He served in the Navy during World War II with the Construction
Battalion. Before starting his own company, Mr. Funk worked for
a structural engineering firm in Dallas and later for a contractor
who completed Dallas City Hall and Scottish Rite Hospital.
He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor.
A strong
foundation was established early on by the values and work ethic
demonstrated by Joe and Byrna Funk. These values of quality, integrity
and personal care continue to have a major influence on the business
conduct and people associated with the firm today.
