Ohr Hatorah Synagogue
August 2003-After successfully
completing the new Torah Day School of Dallas, families associated
with this school have again retained the services of Joe Funk
Construction Engineers to begin work immediately on the first
two phases of Ohr HaTorah, a new synagogue located in the heart
of North Dallas. The overall development of this project is envisioned
in four phases that will later include administrative offices,
a gymnasium and classrooms.
Phase 1 of the project includes completing site work, parking,
paving, fire lanes, utilities, and mechanical, electrical and
plumbing services to support new modular buildings being put in
place for high holiday services in early October. Phase 2 will
get underway in late Fall with a focus on completing the main
sanctuary and synagogue. Together, Phase 1 and 2 represent 15,800
square feet of construction work. Joe Funk Construction Engineers
is working closely with Steve Sullivan of Sullivan Architects
in more detailed planning for the synagogue and phases 3 and 4
budgeting as well.
Mitch Meyers, Vice President of Marketing, at Joe Funk Construction says
"this is an exciting project for our firm because we are helping these families
finally realize their dream of relocating from the temporary facility they
have been in for several years. It is a pleasure working with Allan Schwartz,
a member of the synagogue, who is representing the membership during the construction
process." The new synagogue under the leadership of Rabbi Aryeh Feigenbaum
is being built at 6324 Churchill Way.
