Joe Funk Construction Engineers held the 1st
Annual Specialty Contractors Awards Luncheon September
16, 2005 at QUOIN. The Specialty Contractors were honored and
recognized for achievement and excellence in their specialized
field. The awards were for the completion of N. Henderson
Retail Center and Dallas Independent School District
Package 47 for DMJM Management which included
Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, JW
Ray Learning Center, Barbara Manns and
Health Special High School.

Joe Funk Construction Engineers is the recepient of QUOIN's
2005 Merit Award for Outstanding
Construction Services on the Pecan
Hollow Golf Course New Pro Shop and Clubhouse. The project
was built for the City of Plano. The architect for this
project was Jones & Boyd.

Mitchell Meyers is a member on the AIA/QUOIN
Leadership Council and now serves as chair on
the newly formed Resolution
and Review Panel. This panel will review and resolve
issues between parties before, during or after a construction
project. This council is charged with finding new ways to enhance
the relationship between Architects and Contractors.

Awards In 2003
Joe Funk Construction Engineers is the
recipient of QUOIN's 2003 Summit Award for outstanding
construction on the Plano Courtyard Theater project.

Recognition In 2003
Mitchell Meyers is a
new member on AIA/QUOIN's Leadership Council and
serves as Co-Chair with Penny Wright at HKS Architects on the
Council's Events Committee. The Council is charged with finding
new ways to enhance the architect and contractor relationship
through educational forums, outreach programs, events and issue
resolution methods.
Mitchell Meyers begins
a one-year term on the Dallas/Fort Worth SMPS Chapter
Public Relations Committee. Lisa Hagen, with Halff Associates
and Chair of this Committee, handpicked Mitch for this role that
oversees all of the Chapter's promotionals, newsletters and special
activities. Mitch and Lisa are also Co-Chairs for the Chapter's
involvement in this year's Hearts & Hammers community service
project.
Marshall Funk, President
of Joe Funk Construction Engineers, wins the 2003 Bob
Giesler Award presented by the Marina Operators
Association of America (MOAA). He is also President of
Dallas-based Marinas International that operates and manages sixteen
marinas in seven states including two boat dealerships and a large
houseboat rental business. Today, Marshall is considered one of
the largest marina operators and owners in the country.
The October issue of Revolutionary
Marketing, a national publication by ZweigWhite,
singles out Mitchell Meyers and only three other
individuals in the country for their People on the Move column.
The newsletter features innovative marketing practices for design
and construction firm leaders.
