November 2004—Joe
Funk Construction Engineers has been awarded a $9M contract
by the DISD for a 4 school renovation package. The schools
include Roosevelt High School, JW Ray Learning Center,
Barbara Manns and Health Special High Schools. The renovations
will start in November 2004 and the work will be completed in
June 2005.
Leading the team at Joe Funk Construction Engineers
is the Executive Vice President, Rusty
Norris and Glenn Sefton,
Vice President and Senior Project Manager. The Program Manager
is DMJM Management lead by Steven
Solka and Darrell Boltin.
The Architect is Lopez Garcia led by Steve Leary.
"Joe Funk Construction Engineers and Lopez
Garcia have been excellent to work with on these school renovation
projects on the pre-construction side. The project package was
over budget and Joe Funk Construction Engineers along with their
specialty contractors have found a way to get us not only to the
budget, but under budget," commented Steven Solka,
Deputy Director of DMJM Management, the Program Manager for the
DISD. The
school renovation work includes: new HVAC work, plumbing and electrical
upgrades. Also included is new fire protection system, PA System,
fire alarm work, interior finishes and ADA upgrades through out all
schools.
