February 2006—Members of Congregation Ohr HaTorah selected Joe Funk Construction Engineers to build their new 40,000 sf, two-story permanent synagogue located on 6324 Churchill Way in North Dallas. For the last year and a half, our firm served as Construction Manager during the first phase of the project working together with the design team and owner representatives to complete architectural drawings and deliver extensive pre-construction and planning services.
The new synagogue will feature a 450-seat sanctuary, a social hall that can accommodate up to 500 guests, kitchens, chapel, youth facilities, bridal lounge, classrooms, an open courtyard, and rabbinic offices. Total contract value is $7.2 million with an official groundbreaking scheduled for late March. Completion date is June 2007. Visit www.ohrhatorahdallas.org.
Glenn Sefton, Vice President and Senior Project Manager, and Robin Bird, Superintendent, are leading the Joe Funk Construction Engineers team. Hanhfeld Hoffer Stanford based in Fort Worth is the project architect with Lynn Milstone and David Stanford playing key roles. Visit www.hahnfeld.com. Richard Glazer is the Congregation’s main point of contact and Greg Larremore is the Owner’s Representative. Lead Rabbi for Congregation Ohr HaTorah is Rabbi Aryeh Feigenbaum.
“It is an honor for our firm to play such a major role in planning and building what will be the largest Orthodox synagogue in the Dallas Fort Worth area and to give congregation members a place to finally call home,” says Mitchell Meyers, Vice President of Joe Funk Construction Engineers.
