DISD Bid Package #27
March 2006—The
Dallas Independent School District continues
to value its relationship with Joe Funk Construction Engineers
by awarding us a new $9.9 million contract to renovate four elementary
schools in Southeast Dallas: Lisbon Elementary School,
Clara Oliver Elementary School, Joseph J. Rhoads Elementary School,
and Charles A. Rice Elementary School.
Work will be completed in February 2007 and includes plumbing,
air conditioning, fire protection, electrical, and ADA upgrades
as well as roofing repairs, new windows, new elevators, flooring
and finishes.

Program Manager for this four school renovation package
is Austin Commercial and Marvin Bradshaw is serving
as their Project Manager. Lou Sussman leads the
project management team for Joe Funk Construction Engineers on
each of the four schools. The project architect is RGM Architects
led by Ralph Martinez.

Rusty Norris, Executive
Vice President with Joe Funk Construction Engineers, says “our
team is excited about working for the first time with Austin Commercial
in their role as Program Manager after we have successfully completed
13 other school renovations for DISD. We look forward to many
more opportunities in the future to collaborate with Austin and
with DISD.”
